Life At Resolution: Lisa - Art Director

What is it like being an art director at Resolution Games? Lisa, an art director on our marketing team, shares her experience as well as gives insights into how she maintains work life balance and what she is looking forward to in the future.

What is your favorite part about working at Resolution Games?

I enjoy the energy and positivity here. It feels like we are on a journey together that we don’t know the outcome of.

What is an example of a fun challenge or project you've worked on?

I really like what we did with the merch box for Demeo that we sent out to content creators. We were able to work closely with the game team to get really nice assets for the booklet, 3D printed figurines and the box graphics to create what looked like a real life board game box. It was a really fun collaboration!

I also enjoyed working on the Stockholm outdoor campaign. I’ve always had a passion for physical print. Creating large outdoor graphics requires extra work to source materials in high resolution and to adjust it to the surroundings it’ll be placed on. You also have to think about how people move and experience the artwork. Having your work be seen by thousands of commuters every day is a humbling feeling. The coolest thing we did was to brand a tram that drove around in the city for two weeks.

Can you share a highlight about how we collaborate at Resolution Games?

We have a very open environment for suggestions here at Resolution. Since there is a lot going on with both the industry as a whole and at the company, we are always adjusting and improving to find out what works best. In the marketing team, that means both evaluating performance and tweaking accordingly. We’re also encouraged to pitch new ideas and experiment.

What do you enjoy doing with your colleagues outside of the daily work routine?

Personally, I try to separate work and my spare time as much as possible. Our work from home policy has been a really positive experience for me and has helped me find a good work-life balance. It has also given me more energy to actually feel excited about going to the office and interacting with my colleagues. I get a lot of energy by being in the office now.

What excites you about being in the VR/AR games space?

The future of VR and AR feels very open and unpredictable. There is a positive vibe about it that I enjoy.

What do you look forward to in your position at Resolution Games?

Meta has just introduced A/B testing for store assets. I’m excited about trying this and look forward to optimizing our art based on these learnings. It’s always nice to have data to back up our decisions. Plus I always love to be proven wrong about my assumptions.
