Boats, Trains and Automobiles - The Many Ways We Get To Work
What is the best way to get to the Resolution Games offices? Bus? Car? Train? Bike? Or perhaps even by boat? Each one of our colleagues have their own way of traveling into their designated office and today we are going to highlight some of the morning adventures our team members start their days with.
Heading to the office in Stockholm? As many might know when it comes to the Nordic countries, biking is a popular way of transportation for both work and play. Stockholm has numerous bike lanes and paths streamlining the bikers' journey to wherever they need to be. There’s plenty of bike stands all around for quick parking, tire pumps are easy to find (and free, of course), and many office buildings even have bike parking rooms so they can stay out of the snow and rain during our cold winters.
Not the kind of person who wants to hop on a bike first thing in the morning? How about an idyllic and relaxing ferry ride instead? Boating through Stockholm’s archipelago offers calming nature views to help ease one into the working day. The Stockholm city travel card allows you to use these boats and ferries just like buses and the subway trains. Just blip your card and bon voyage!
But what about our colleagues in Austin, Texas? Our colleagues in the U.S. usually drive into work and then walk to restaurants and shops nearby during lunch or after work before going home.
Our Linköping colleagues at Resolution Tech travel to work quite similarly to those in Stockholm. They bike to work as well as take public transportation. Some even live nearby and walk to work while listening to a podcast or some nice tunes.
Additionally, a majority of our team members live in Stockholm and use the subway system and commuter trains to get to the office. Stockholm’s subway system has some of the most beautiful architecture and even will have art installations spread all around for travelers to enjoy.
Now let’s not forget the days where we work from home. Leaving your warm bed with possibly some snuggly pets can be just as tough as a bike ride. For night owls like our teammate Anita, it’s a quick pit stop in the kitchen for some tea or coffee, then off to the work station.
