Playtest FAQ

We want to see what happens when we put our games in the hands of real players. In order for us to do this, we want to invite players to try out or games that are in development so that they can tell us what is good about them, and what’s bad about them. We invite players to try our games at our office, and sometime we invite players to try our games at home using their own headset.

All you need to do is play our game the same way you would play it at home, then tell us what you think, answer some questions and fill out some feedback. We only want to test the games, and it does not matter how much experience you have with other games or how good you are. We want to hear from all kinds of players.

For remote playtests performed online, you need a headset to play, and usually you will need a computer so that you can receive instructions during the playtest.

You need to fill out a short survey before each playtest, which we will send to everyone who signed up to the playtest email list. Sometimes we will also post the link to the playtest on our Resolution Games social media pages.

Anyone can join our playtests. We’re looking for all types of players with all types of experiences. The only requirement is that you need to be 18 years old, since you need to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement before the playtest.

No, you don’t need to prepare anything in advance, or do anything once the playtest is over. When playtesting at home, you might need to install the game or programs required to play.

We will always tell you before the playtest how long it will take, and you get to pick which time slot you want to attend. Usually, playtest will be around an hour long.

As a token of our appreciation, you will get one or more Resolution games of your choice (depending on how long the playtest is). If you do not want one of our games or don’t have a VR headset, you can also choose a gift card or SF Bio movie ticket instead for those that live in Stockholm. For very long playtests, we might offer additional rewards.
